Seasons Seniors’ Living
I was engaged by a leading South-East Queensland aged care provider to help communicate its key message that “everybody has the right to maintain independence regardless of age” and that its programs allowed clients to “live out retirement their way with dignity, independence and freedom”.
When I heard a staff member at the aged care provider comment that one of the elderly residents had requested a stripper at her 100th birthday party, my ears pricked up.
Even though this event had occurred almost a year prior, I immediately identified the GOLD in this yarn.
I pitched the story to media as “Great Granny requests stripper at her 100th birthday party” and a star was born!
Breakfast TV programs, magazines and radio alike were all fighting for an interview with “Iris”.
Iris appeared on Channel 7’s The Morning Show and Weekend Sunrise, was featured in New Idea and the Courier Mail and even scored her own regular “Agony Aunt” segment on Hit 105.3FM, “Ask Iris”!
This campaign not only singlehandedly generated more than $2,000,000 of estimated publicity value for my client, but also reinforced the aged care provider’s key messages.
